Jonathan Gilliam to Newsmax TV: Right-Wing Bomb Would Have Exploded

By    |   Thursday, 25 October 2018 03:18 PM

A former FBI special agent pointed the finger at those motivated to "intimidate" and "disrupt" the midterm elections, and it is not conservatives – a right-wing bomb would have exploded, Jonathan Gilliam, a former Navy SEAL told Newsmax TV on Thursday.

"I don't think that the smell test points to an organized right-wing group because of the hokeyness of this," Gilliam told "America Talks Live." "I think in the political atmosphere that we're in, if this was a right-wing group, these bombs would have gone off high order.

"I have a feeling when somebody commits this from the right, it would be a commitment to actually carry something out."

A right-wing group would not want to hurt Republicans, he added.

"If we do find that these were not meant to go high order and explode, we have to assume most likely they were meant to intimidate, and that's going to point us in the direction of what type of person might actually do an act like this," Gilliam told hosts John Cardillo and Dr. Gina Loudon.

Gilliam noted, not only did the attacker(s) know the addresses of President Donald Trump's political opponents, they went to great lengths to point the finger at conservatives.

"What's interesting to me though is that the lengths to which whoever did this went to design these to make them look real enough, to put them in packages, plan the attack, and covertly get these things to the right addresses," he said.

Gilliam also said this political hit was conducted by a group and not an individual, particularly considering the timed delivery of the packages.

"If this was done hand delivered in a wide variety of areas, automatically you know that it's more than one person," he said. ". . . How many political groups do you know that are one person strong and do something like this? It appears to me that somebody's trying to make this look like conservatives did it.

". . . This is a thing, just like the caravan, to disrupt people at this point in time right before the election."
