New Yorkers reportedly donated more money to the presidential campaign of small-town South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg than they did to their own mayor and White House hopeful Bill de Blasio.
Buttigieg's campaign announced it raised $2.35 million from New Yorkers during the past three months — more than twice the $1.1 million de Blasio raised nationwide since launching his campaign in May, the New York Post reported.
According to the Post, Buttigieg collected contributions from 14,000 city residents, more than twice de Blasio's total 6,700 donors.
Even de Blasio supporter and fellow Brooklyn resident Steve Buscemi contributed $500 to Buttigieg, the Post reported.
