Sarah Palin says her family has been stalked by a series of predators for years, including one man who recently threatened to assassinate President Donald Trump.
The former Alaska governor and vice-presidential running mate of John McCain posted photos of one of the alleged tormentors on Facebook on Monday.
“This is one of the stalkers who’s tormented my daughters for years... following them, threatening them, years of harassing and scaring the hell out of them - as we’ve explained to the FBI for years,” Palin wrote.
That man is purportedly Shawn Christy, a 27-year-old self-styled survivalist who is now the focus of a nationwide manhunt by the FBI, the Secret Service and the U.S. Marshals Service.
On Instagram, Palin continued: “Threatening my kids and my parents, following my daughters, moving to Alaska, then following Bristol to Texas to more aggressively physically invade and intimidate. It’s been a hellish ride with these stalkers …
“Finally, perhaps, in this particular case with one of the stalkers - Shawn Christy (having recently threatened the President) justice may prevail.”
Court records show Christy was charged with making terroristic threats in March 2017 after threatening to kill a tax clerk in Bangor, Pa., and blow up the building where she worked, Philly.com reports. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 months of probation.
That same spring, he was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly swinging a four-foot-long stick at McAdoo Mayor Stephan Holly, according to the paper.
