Palin: Why Aren't Illegals Sent to Mark Zuckerberg's Neighborhood?

By    |   Sunday, 20 July 2014 08:29 AM EDT

Rather than putting illegal immigrant children into middle-class communities, the federal government should be moving them into exclusive liberal enclaves where residents are pro-amnesty — such as Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg or Microsoft founder Bill Gates — former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Saturday at the Western Conservative Summit in Colorado.

"Notice they are not hauling illegals to the swanky neighborhoods of D.C. and Manhattan," Palin said.  "They are sending them to middle-class neighborhoods."

Zuckerberg has been pushing amnesty legislation through his FWD.us campaign.

She noted Gates recently penned an op-ed calling for no limits on guest-worker visas just before his company announced layoffs of 18,000 employees.

Amnesty supporters are able to build their own "borders" through gated communities to keep out undesirables, Palin said, but they have no interest in securing the country's borders. Tens of thousands of Central American children have been illegally flooding across the border for months, setting up a crisis for Border Patrol agents and communities across the country where they are being kept.

In addition to concerns over a weak border, the influx of children also has caused worries because some of them are said to have infectious diseases. There is also concern for the children themselves who risk their lives traveling hundreds of miles through Mexico atop freight trains. Some are robbed, raped or kidnapped for prostitution.

Local governments also are wary over how they will pay for services to illegal immigrant children transferred to their jurisdictions by federal authorities. Palin said President Barack Obama was transforming the country into an "unfunded charity" soon to be "overrun" by illegals, Breitbart reported

Palin termed the president "the DREAMweaver" who "waved his magic wand" when Congress refused to pass immigration amnesty legislation.

She said that the DREAMers initiative — under which anyone who arrived as a child, has been in the country for five years, and is willing to attend college or serve in the military, can earn citizenship — created the current border crisis.

"If Obama won't obey the law and secure the borders, it's not immigration, it's invasion," she said.

The former governor also warned that criminals and terrorists would use the crisis to sneak across the border. One illegal immigrant who entered the United States among the children was recently arrested for murder, Breitbart Texas reported.

Palin said it would be the "forgotten man" who would be forced to compete with illegals for work and resources and see their tax money go to pay for illegal immigrant absorption.
