Sarah Palin: Fox Canceled My Convention Interviews

By    |   Wednesday, 29 August 2012 08:32 PM EDT

Fox News nixed scheduled interviews with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, according to a post on her Facebook page.

Palin didn’t elaborate as to why her appearances had been canceled. She also did not specify how many interviews she had been scheduled to do on Fox. The 2008 vice presidential candidate, a regular commentator on Fox, wrote on her Facebook page:

“I’m sorry Fox canceled all my scheduled interviews tonight because I sure wanted to take the opportunity on the air to highlight Senator John McCain’s positive contributions to America, to honor him, and to reflect on what a biased media unfairly put him through four years ago tonight. Granted, our honored and esteemed war hero has gone through much more than the liberal media can ever do to him in their efforts to harm this patriot. I look forward to hearing his words to his fellow Americans tonight more than any of the other convention speeches. God bless John McCain. Thank you for everything. And happy birthday, my friend.”

Fox News responded to Palin with a statement by Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming, that was sent to the website Mediaite.

“Our plans changed based on the fact that the RNC condensed the schedule of speeches from four nights to three," Shine wrote. "We look forward to having Governor Palin back as soon as we can.”

McCain addressed the Republican National Convention Wednesday night in Tampa.

Two hours after the post, the Facebook message by Palin received tens of thousands of “Likes” by followers and was shared by more than two thousand people as of 8 pm Wednesday.

Many of those who commented on the post expressed sympathy for Palin.

“I am very disappointed with what Fox has done,” one commenter wrote on Palin’s page. “I always enjoy listening to what you have to say. You have done great thing and helped a lot of people to get elected. Keep up the good work and thank you!”

Another wrote: “We still love you Sarah!”

CNN, looking to capitalize on Palin’s apparent fallout with Fox, asked her to come on its network Wednesday night. Host Piers Morgan tweeted, “If Fox don't want you tonight @SarahPalinUSA - come on my show. Be happy to talk about @SenJohnMcCain with you.”
