Obama Mispronounces French Leader's Name

By    |   Wednesday, 03 July 2013 01:09 PM EDT

President Barack Obama scored an own goal Monday when he mispronounced the name of France's President, Francois Hollande.

In a video of his speech in Tanzania, Obama called the French leader "oo-lawn" instead of "o-lond."

Story continues below.

It's not the first time Obama suffered similar embarrassment. In May, he mispronounced the name of Syria's Bashar al-Assad, pronouncing it “Bash-eer” instead of "Bashar."
