Vice President Mike Pence told CNN Wednesday that Congress will soon repeal and replace Obamacare.

"President Trump made it clear that the first priority of this Congress should be to repeal and replace Obamacare," Pence said.

"And while it was clear that a little more than a month ago Congress wasn't quite ready to do it, we've never relented in our commitment to keep that promise to the American people. Obamacare has failed.

"I am very confident that in the days ahead we are going to see the Congress come together and we are going to take that important first step to repeal and replace Obamacare with the kind of healthcare reform that President Trump has envisioned,"

Pence said the administration is very encouraged with the discussions taking place with members of Congress over plans to replace Obamacare, which had appeared to be stalled.

And Rep. Tom MacArthur, R-N.J., said a House vote to replace Obamacare could come as early as next week, NJ Advance Media reported.

"It's not dead," MacArthur said. "I spoke with the vice president and the (House) speaker over the weekend, and it's moving.

"If we think we have enough votes, we'll go forward next week."
