President Donald Trump's attorney Michael Cohen on Tuesday slammed a Vanity Fair report his arrest was imminent on charges stemming in part from the Russia probe, saying: "Your alleged source is wrong!"

Cohen sent the statement to Vanity Fair in a text message.

The magazine cited "a source close to Cohen" as saying "Cohen has told friends that he expects to be arrested any day now."

Cohen is under federal investigation for a $130,000 payment he made before the 2016 election to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels, who alleges she had an affair with Trump 12 years ago.

His New York City taxi company and other personal dealings are also being investigated, according to news reports.

Prosecutors raided Cohen's home, office, and Manhattan hotel room in early April — armed with search warrants based, in part, on information obtained from Moscow special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

The raid was supervised by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York in Manhattan.

Cohen has not been charged with any wrongdoing, though Trump has slammed the raid as a "disgrace" and bashed it on Twitter:
