Melania Trump Asks Americans to Continue to Help Hurricane Victims

By    |   Tuesday, 17 October 2017 11:32 AM

First lady Melania Trump is calling for Americans to continue to pitch in and come to the aid of those who have suffered through recent hurricanes.

Her comments came in a public service announcement video recorded in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to The Hill.

"The president and I have witnessed firsthand the compassion and commitment of Americans as friends, neighbors, and strangers continue to volunteer time and money to help one another following the recent hurricanes,” Trump says in the video.

"Your help is still needed. Donate to an organization of your choice and volunteer to help your fellow Americans."

The Washington Examiner noted the White House expects hurricane recovery efforts in Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands to last for months – and in some cases even years.
