McCaul to Newsmax: Bombing Suspect Trail Colder By the Day

By    |   Thursday, 18 Apr 2013 03:17 PM

The trail leading to the terror suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings grows colder every day, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mike McCaul told Newsmax on Thursday.

“My concern is these guys are on the loose and we don’t know where they are. Every day that passes, it gets more difficult,” the Texas Republican said.

McCaul added that law enforcement authorities are examining forensics evidence, reviewing video taken at the scene, and monitoring outbound flights from the United States, all of which is critical to the investigation and could lead to more clues as to who is responsible for the deadly attack.

McCaul also said authorities were right to be cautious about releasing information to the public, given the erroneous media reports Wednesday that a suspect was in custody.

“I don’t think they have any good leads at this point,” McCaul said. “They’re obviously taking their time to get it right. The last thing they want to do is release pictures of innocent civilians.”
