Incoming Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, while responding to questions about incoming Sen. Mitt Romney's opinion piece criticizing President Donald Trump, said Wednesday that people in her state see Trump as a president who has delivered on the promises he's made.

"What Tennesseans are looking at is a president who has delivered on turning the economy around," the Republican lawmaker told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."

"He has delivered on moving the embassy to Jerusalem and he has delivered when it comes to working, defeating ISIS, dealing with China, dealing with trade, getting us back on the road to economic prosperity, and Tennesseans want to see more of that action."

Blackburn added that people in her state also want to see the nation's southern border secured.

In his article, Romney, who will be representing Utah, questioned Trump's conduct in office, especially his actions over the past month, and said that it proved evidence that "the president has not risen to the mantle of the office."

Blackburn, though, said people in her state want to see her focusing on doing what she can to keep the United States free and prosperous, and she will work with Trump and his administration, as well as her colleagues to make sure that happens.

She also commented on the ongoing government shutdown, noting that Trump has made an offer and now it is up to the Democratic House leadership to come to the table and work on that offer.
