Journalist Maria Shriver, who separated from husband and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger after he acknowledged having an affair and fathering a child with their housekeeper, has hired a divorce lawyer, sources close to Shriver tell
People magazine.
They say it’s renowned Los Angeles family law attorney Laura Wasser. "Maria hasn't decided yet if she wants to end her marriage," one source said. The sources say Shriver hired Wasser before Schwarzenegger revealed the affair publicly.
Shriver has kept fairly quiet since the news broke. "This is a painful and heartbreaking time," she said in a brief statement. "As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."
