A jury in Florida has acquitted a Chinese national who was accused of trespassing at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting.

But Lu Jing was found guilty of a misdemeanor charge of resisting a police officer without violence when she was taken into custody. Her attorneys say she also goes by the name of Jing Lu.

According to the newspaper, the jury rejected prosecutors' arguments that she purposely intruded at the private club. She claimed to be innocently sightseeing on Trump's property on Dec. 18, 2019.

She is scheduled for sentencing on Friday and faces up to one year in jail.
