Spirited protestors taunted Paul Manafort as he headed into court Friday in a failed bid to stay out of jail.

As President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman exited his car and walked into U.S. District Court federal court in Washington, D.C., he was showered with chants of "Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!"

A video recorded by ABC News shows Manafort, dressed in a dark blue suit and bright red tie, ignoring his insulters as he stepped briskly toward the courthouse doors.

It was the same sing-song missive participants at the 2016 Republican National Convention shouted regarding Hillary Clinton – a taunt that Manafort defended at the time.

Manafort's jeerers were unable to repeat their chants when the court hearing was over, because judge U.S. District Judge Amy Berman revoked his bail and he was incarcerated.

The revocation came after prosecutors alleged he and one of his associates had attempted to tamper with witnesses in the criminal case brought against him last October involving alleged conspiracy to launder money, making false statements and other charges.

Throughout 2016, pro-Trump forces eagerly chanted "lock her up" against then-presidential candidate Clinton who they alleged was guilty of crimes stemming from her time as secretary of state.

"It probably reflects the attribute of a lot of people in America, where 70 percent of people in this country think she is guilty and that justice wasn't done," Manafort said following the chants at the RNC, according to PR Week.

Manafort appeared in court Friday after special counsel Robert Mueller asked a judge to revoke his pretrial release conditions. Manafort pleaded not guilty to witness tampering.
