The new president-elect of Iran, Hassan Rowhani, has been labeled a "moderate" by the Western media, but on foreign policy and the issue of Iran's nuclear program, he is anything but. As the lead negotiator for Iran on talks to suspend uranium enrichment in 2003, he admitted to "duping" the Europeans, saying that Iran was installing equipment for uranium production even while the deal was being negotiated. The Western news media, and many in government, have judged Rowhani incorrectly, and U.S. efforts to isolate Iran as it expands its nuclear capabilities may now be in jeopardy.
