One day after telling members of Congress he feels no obligation to tell the truth to members of the media, Corey Lewandowski early Wednesday argued with a CNN host about being honest.

"I'm as honest as I can be, as often as I can be...I'm as honest as I can be with you," Lewandowski, the former campaign manager for President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign and who is flirting with a Senate bid in New Hampshire, told CNN "New Day" co-host Alisyn Camerota, while they had a heated discussion about comments he'd made during Tuesday's House Judiciary Committee hearing.

House Judiciary Committee counsel Barry Berke on Tuesday had questioned Lewandowski during a hearing on comments he'd told NBC early last year. Lewandowski replied that he always tells the truth when under oath, but that he does not have an obligation to be candid with the media, as it has no obligation to cover him honestly.

"You only feel the obligation to tell the truth when you're under oath?" Camerota asked him, to which Lewandowski retorted that CNN has no trouble hiring former Deputy FBI Director Andy McCabe as a contributor, even though he has a "criminal referral" for lying to the FBI and the inspector general

He also disagreed with her that he'd answered few questions during the Judiciary hearing while citing executive privilege, but instead that he "answered every question I had the obligation to answer."

As for the executive privilege question, Lewandowski asserted that it was not his privilege, but the White House's, and if the Judiciary Committee took exception, they could file for a decision through the courts.

He also argued with Camerota about whether the Mueller report found there was no collusion between Trump and Russia while admitting he's never read it.
