A lawsuit claims the director of Donald Trump's presidential campaign in North Carolina pulled a gun on several campaign staffers and the campaign itself did nothing.

According to Politico, Earl Phillips allegedly pulled a loaded .45 caliber pistol on another Trump campaign staffer while the pair was in Phillips' jeep. Vincent Bordini said Phillips pressed the gun onto his knee while his finger was on the trigger.

Moments later, the confrontation reportedly ended with Phillips simply putting his gun away.

No charges were filed.

"Vince strongly supported Mr. Trump, worked for him, devoted himself to getting him elected," Bordini's lawyer Shaun Haermann told the New York Daily News. "The last thing he wanted to do was file criminal charges."

Phillips allegedly pulled the weapon on the Trump campaign's Western North Carolina regional director as well.

The lawsuit, reports Politico, says Bordini heard of at least four similar incidents involving Phillips. He contacted Corey Lewandowski, Trump's campaign manager at the time, but Phillips was not punished.

Bordini, according to the Daily News, left the campaign in March. He is suing the campaign for several acts, including assault, battery, negligent retention and supervision, Politico reports.

WCCB Charlotte reports that Phillips resigned from his post Thursday after the lawsuit was filed.

"I have retained legal counsel," Phillips told the station. "I have also stepped down from all affiliation with any and all organizations associated with Donald J. Trump for President to include the campaign and National Diversity Coalition for Trump."
