Migrants who rushed the U.S. border over the weekend made the case for building a border wall as quickly as possible, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who helped draft President Donald Trump's original immigration plan, said Wednesday.
"They made the case for building the wall as quickly and completely as possible, and they also show this is a very real danger, that there will be additional attempts to rush the border," Kobach told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."
"President Trump has done the right thing by agreeing with Mexico to keep the asylum-seekers on the Mexican side of the border."
However, when the migrants realize that 90 percent of them are not eligible for asylum, many will decide to try to cross the border illegally, Kobach warned.
"Thousands of aliens are poised to come into the United States," said Kobach. "We'll see this crisis getting bigger, not subsiding."
He also predicted the Trump administration will "absolutely win" against a 9th Circuit ruling against his call to process only asylum claims for people entering the country legally.
"There is no question this judge got it wrong," said Kobach. "It was a ridiculous opinion that he issued. It does show how politicized some distribute court judges are. What he did in addition to ruling the wrong way he created additional incentive, because his ruling says, hey, don't worry about it, cross illegally you can still make asylum claim if they ever catch you."
