The Koch brothers' network said Wednesday that it was canceling more than $500,000 in advertising for Sen. Marco Rubio's re-election campaign in Florida.

The ad buy, scheduled for Aug. 30 to Sept. 6, was valued at $568,000, spokesman James Davis told The Hill.

"Rubio is running strong in Florida so we are realigning our television spend to other areas for this week," Davis said. "We will continue to monitor things and make adjustments as necessary."

The network, headed by industrialists Charles and David Koch, has said that it would spend more than $42 million this election cycle to support down-ballot candidates.

In Florida, Rubio currently leads Democratic challenger Rep. Patrick Murphy — considered his likely challenger by Republican Party officials — by 5.8 points, according to the RealClearPolitics average of recent polls.

The Koch's network in the Sunshine State includes 16 field offices and 165 field staff, the Hill reports.
