Veteran journalist and author Edward Klein has shot to the top of the New York Times’ best-seller list with an explosive new book about President Barack Obama — and he tells Newsmax his book provides a fitting blueprint that Mitt Romney can use to defeat the Democratic incumbent.
Klein’s book,
“Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House,” which is debuting on the Times’ list at No. 1, is buttressed by nearly 200 interviews, many of them with insiders who know Obama best, and pulls back the curtain on one of the most secretive White Houses in history.

Klein is the former editor in chief of the New York Times Magazine, former foreign editor of Newsweek, and a contributing editor to Vanity Fair. He sat down in New York on Wednesday with Newsmax columnist and former Congressman John LeBoutillier for an exclusive interview about Klein’s blockbuster expose, which is being hailed as the most riveting political book of the year.
LeBoutillier asked Klein if he believes in the 2012 presidential campaign Mitt Romney should be mirroring Klein’s “Amateur” book in attacking Obama as an amateur.
“I do. I think that the incompetence, the bungling incompetence married with the radical left-wing program is a toxic mix that Mitt Romney should use in this campaign,” Klein responded. “Because do we really want some incompetent to be back in the White House for another four years?”
Klein added that the Obama administration pushes a “socialistic ideology in everything they do. It doesn’t work, and the American public doesn’t want it.”
