Kellyanne Conway Rips 'Petty' Pelosi for Disinviting Trump

It would be "petty" for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to disinvite President Donald Trump from delivering his State of the Union address Jan. 29 in the House Chambers, presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway said Wednesday.

"It would be, I think, remarkably petty of the Speaker to disinvite the president of United States to address the nation that they both serve at the highest level," told Fox News' "Outnumbered Overtime" on Wednesday.

Trump, in a letter sent to Pelosi just before Conway's appearance, said he still plans to deliver his address from the House floor.

In his letter, Trump wrote he has spoken to national security officials, and there "no security concerns regarding the State of the Union address," so he will "be honoring" her invitation.

"It would be so very sad for our country if the State of the Union were not delivered on time, on schedule, and very importantly, on location!" Trump wrote.

Pelosi has not disinvited Trump from giving his speech, but she has suggested he either submit in writing or postpone it because of the ongoing partial government shutdown.

Conway also denied Trump wrote his letter with any sense of malice against the speaker, but instead to allow people to keep their schedules.

For example, first lady Melania Trump has invited several people to the speech, Conway noted, and if Pelosi also wants to disadvise them, "she's going to some explaining to do."
