Megyn Kelly: Pelosi Lied About Hobby Lobby Decision

Pelosi, a California Democrat, made the comments at her weekly press briefing on Thursday.

On her show "The Kelly File," the host said Pelosi engaged in a "gross misrepresentation" of the case, which upheld the religious rights of certain for-profit companies to decline health insurance coverage of some forms of birth control.

"News flash: all birth control that was legal before this decision remains legal today," Kelly said. "The high court simply found that a religious freedom law which was co-sponsored by none other than wait for it — Nancy Pelosi — sometimes protects corporations from being forced to violate their religious beliefs."

Brent Bozell of the conservative Media Research Center concurred with Kelly, saying that "everything Nancy Pelosi said was a flat out, unambiguous, deliberate lie."

He said the press likely did not expose Pelosi’s misrepresentations because they side with her politically.

"Abortion is the holy grail for the radical left," Bozell said. "So many in the press are vested in the left. They support this."

Kelly, Politico reported, further went after Pelosi for saying the justices’ gender played a role in their decision, noting that it was men who ruled in the majority in the precedent setting Roe v. Wade case.

"The gender of the justices in the Hobby Lobby majority is totally irrelevant," Kelly said.
