Vice President Kamala Harris’ odd assertion that citizens in rural areas can’t comply with voter ID laws because they don’t know where to make a photocopy is a reminder that Harris – and the Democratic party – struggle when trying to connect with middle Americans, a shortcoming that may prove costly as soon as the 2022 midterms, experts say.
