A newly released email shows that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton knowingly used an unsecure BlackBerry device when she worked in the Obama administration.
Judicial Watch obtained the email through a court order. The message shows Clinton saying she was using a non-government BlackBerry despite the recommendations from her "security hawks."
"Against the advice of the security hawks, I still do carry my berry but am prohibited from using it in my office, where I spend most of my time when I'm not on a plane or in a 'no coverage' country," Clinton wrote to Susan Kennedy, presumably the former chief of staff of former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Clinton came under fire for her use of several personal BlackBerries, along with a home-based email server and multiple non-government email addresses, while she led the State Department.
A lengthy FBI investigation concluded that Clinton's actions did not meet the standard of filing criminal charges.
Other emails that have been released show that Clinton and her aides exchanged classified information over the aforementioned email server with people both inside and outside the government.
Earlier this week, Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said a new investigation into Clinton's email use should be launched, in light of the information that has been made public in recent months.
