Report: Trump Fears Running Against Biden in 2020

President Donald Trump fears running against former Vice President Joe Biden in 2020, Axios is reporting.

The website attributed its information to unnamed advisers to Trump.

The president’s concern is based on the weak field of possible Democratic candidates for the White House and who can appeal to his base of working class white voters, Axios said.

The advisers told Axios that Biden conveys authenticity and can work a crowd. In addition, he is not shy about throwing and returning punches, the website said. He also does not believe Trump is morally or politically fit for the presidency, sources said.

And a Democratic source told Axios that Biden would be strong with "Obama-Trump voters."

But Biden’s family considerations could ultimately stop him from actually going all out for the nomination, although Axios said he is expected to test the waters this fall.

Meanwhile, Trump has said Biden would be a "dream" opponent in the election.

"Well, I dream, I dream about Biden," Trump told "CBS Evening News." "That's a dream.

"President Obama took him out of the garbage heap, and everybody was shocked that he did. I'd love to have it be Biden."
