Former Gov. Jeb Bush, R-Fla., is heading back to Tallahassee as a strategic consultant for a law firm whose clients include pharmaceutical and energy companies, sugar advocacy groups and fantasy sports giant DraftKings.
The former GOP presidential primary candidate will join Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
"I believe that putting my knowledge and experience together with Buchanan's professional acumen will help Buchanan's clients grow and prosper," Bush said in a statement, the newspaper reported.
It will be a homecoming of sorts, the Daily Caller reported — some top names at Buchanan are veterans of the Bush network.
"Those of us who have had the pleasure of working with the Governor in the past now have the opportunity to do so again, and those who haven't can look forward to a truly rewarding experience," John McKager Stipanovich, chair of Buchanan's Florida government relations department, said in a statement, the Daily Caller reported.
Stipanovich advised Bush on his gubernatorial campaign in 1994 and ran Florida operations for late President Ronald Reagan's 1984 campaign.
Another Bush associate at Buchanan, Jim Magill, directed legislative affairs for then-Gov. Bush's administration, the Daily Caller reported.
