Stephen Bannon is reportedly readying his revenge on former West Wing rival Jared Kushner – urging ex-chief of staff Reince Priebus to testify Kushner was involved in the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

According to Vanity Fair's Gabriel Sherman, Priebus believes President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, along with his wife, Ivanka Trump, convinced Trump to axe Comey during an early May weekend at the president's New Jersey golf club.

When Trump returned to Washington on May 8, he informed aides of his decision, and dropped the hammer on Comey the next day, Sherman noted.

The firing sparked accusations Trump was trying to obstruct an ongoing probe into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Moscow during the election. Special Counsel Rober Mueller is now overseeing that probe.

Sherman reported the dislike between Bannon and Kushner runs deep, with the former White House chief strategist doubtful of Kushner's political instincts.

"He said Jared is a dope," one unnamed source told Sherman.

According to Sherman, Bannon particularly was angered at being portrayed as an anti-Semite after supporting Trump's response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

"It's one of the attacks he takes most personally because it's not true," an unnamed Breitbart news staff person told Sherman.
