Comey Calls on Americans to Vote For Democrats

Former FBI Director James Comey is calling on Americans to vote for Democrats in the November midterms, saying the GOP-led Congress has fallen short of living up to what the Founding Fathers wanted.

A registered Republican until 2016, Comey tweeted this Tuesday evening:

This Republican Congress has proven incapable of fulfilling the Founders’ design that “Ambition must ... counteract ambition.” All who believe in this country’s values must vote for Democrats this fall. Policy differences don’t matter right now. History has its eyes on us.

President Donald Trump fired Comey in May 2017 and the two men have staged a public feud ever since over Comey's handling of both the Hillary Clinton email investigation and the investigation into whether the Trump campaign had an improper relationship with the Russians.

Comey said in May that Trump's attacks on the FBI are making Americans less safe.
