Terror Group Releases 'ISIS Sniper' Short Film: Report

The Islamic State (ISIS) has responded to the "American Sniper" movie with a short video that reportedly depicts a sniper in its own ranks killing 12 rival fighters.

Several news reports, including one on the Daily Mail's website, have an edited version of the video that does not actually show the people being killed.

The alleged ISIS sniper's face is not shown at any point during the video. The Daily Mail report claims the video, which is reportedly three and a half minutes in length, was made in eastern Syria’s Deir Ezzor province.

The edited version of the video is a little more than one minute long.

Based off a book with the same name, "American Sniper" has racked in more than $400 million worldwide at the box office since it was released on Christmas Day. It centers around Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, a sniper who served four tours in the Iraq War and is the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history with 255 kills — 160 of which were confirmed by the military.

After his military career ended, Kyle was shot and killed by a fellow veteran at a Texas gun range in 2013. His killer was found guilty of his murder Tuesday night and will serve a life sentence in prison.

Directed by Clint Eastwood, "American Sniper" was a contender to win the Best Picture award at the Oscars on Sunday night, but the movie came up short in the voting and did not win. It did, however, earn the award for Best Sound Editing.
