IRS to Hire Diversity and Inclusion Specialist

IRS to Hire Diversity and Inclusion Specialist

By    |   Thursday, 20 June 2013 02:45 PM EDT

The Internal Revenue Service is advertising for a "diversity and inclusion specialist" in the wake of controversy surrounding the agency's targeting of conservative groups for heightened scrutiny.

The position, advertised at a $123,758 annual salary, was announced June 11 and will be advertised until June 24, Breitbart reported.

According to the job description, the diversity officer will "serve as a change agent to provide strategies, solutions, training tools, resources and thought leadership on diversity and foster inclusion" and will also "build internal awareness" in the IRS.

The new hire will also be required to create employee training programs and field complaints from employees regarding diversity issues.

Brietbart noted that the job description says nothing about offering "diversity" to American taxpayers applying for tax-exempt status.
