Vice President Mike Pence echoed his boss in calling out the mayor of Oakland for warning illegal immigrants of an impending ICE raid, saying her actions were "disgraceful."

Last month, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf gave a public warning of an ICE raid, which might have let several hundred illegals evade capture. President Donald Trump had strong words for the move, as did Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

In an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity that aired Monday night, Pence joined the fray.

"The mayor's actions are disgraceful on a couple levels," Pence said. "Number one, she's setting aside her oath of office to uphold the laws of the land, the rule of law.

"I spoke to the attorney general about this. The majority of individuals who are being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement had a criminal record. So, for the mayor of Oakland to warn them in advance of actions by ICE personnel actually put those law enforcement officers at risk; that's just utterly unacceptable."

Acting ICE director Thomas Homan said roughly 800 illegal aliens avoided being captured because of Schaaf's warning.
