Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton could be called to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the next Congress, said the incoming committee chairman, Rep. Jason Chaffetz.

According to The Hill, the committee intends to investigate the issue of embassy security in the coming congressional session, and the Utah Republican said that Clinton's record in managing it as secretary of state will be examined.

He said Clinton, "changed the way we do embassy security and how we build the infrastructure there and she created a mess. It's a disaster!" The Hill reported.

Asked if Clinton could be called before the committee as a witness, Chaffetz said, "I'm not going to rule that out."

Chaffetz said that the committee would not be investigating the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi given the probe is now being managed by a special committee.

Chaffetz has also announced a restructuring of subcommittees, and said he has dismissed 60 percent of the staff that worked on the committee under outgoing chairman, California Rep. Darrell Issa, The Hill reported.

Earlier this month, Chaffetz ruffled feathers when invited all staff to reapply for their positions, saying he wanted to put his "stamp" on the committee.

"There's a lot of good talent in Oversight, but some people, it was time to go, and others will get more prominent positions. It's a good, decent large committee, and so there's quite a bit of turnover," he told Politico.
