Henry Kissinger and George Shultz are the latest prominent Republican former White House administration officials to consider endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, The Hill reports.
Kissinger, 93, who served as national security adviser and secretary of state under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, and Shultz, who was secretary of state under President Ronald Reagan, told Politico they have "discussed publicly" backing Clinton.
"We are going to do it together," Shultz said. "It will have more impact."
Shultz also ruled out the possibility of endorsing Trump. When asked what a Trump presidency would be like, he replied, "God help us."
Shultz added that he was impressed by Clinton, citing her "deep knowledge of Mexico."
Meanwhile, Clinton spokesman Jesse Ferguson said the campaign was unaware of the development. "We don't know anything about it," said Ferguson.
