A middle-aged Pittsburgh husband and wife were in federal custody Sunday after a drug bust that led to the seizure of 10,000 bags of heroin, Trib-Live.com reported.
According to the news site for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Allegheny County district attorney’s office said charges were filed against Farren Mason, 59, and his 50-year-old wife, Ernestine, in a case that began with a six-month investigation and ended with a traffic stop Friday.
After Farren Mason was pulled over, a search warrant was obtained for his home, where authorities scooped up 10,000 bags of heroin, 15 pounds of marijuana and an unspecified amount of cash, district attorney spokesman Mike Manko said.
Mason was then also arrested and charged with federal obstruction of justice.
Her husband is facing federal charges of drug possession, possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Trib-Live reported.
