President Donald Trump is being held to a higher standard than previous presidents, about two-thirds of Republican voters said in a recent poll from The Hill and HarrisX.
Voters were almost evenly split on whether Trump is held to a higher or lower standard, while a smaller amount think he is held to the same standard as his predecessors.

- 19 percent said Trump is held to the same standard.
The majority of GOP voters said Trump is held to a higher standard, while most Democrats feel the opposite is true, and Trump is held to a lower standard than his predecessors.
- 67 percent of Republicans think Trump is held to a higher standard.
- 15 percent of GOP voters think he is held to a lower standard.
- 14 percent of Democrats think Trump is held to a higher standard.

Independents were more closely separated.

"He's done a very good job of setting up some sort of war between him and the media," said Joanna Piacenza, Morning Consult features editor told Hill.TV's "What's America's Thinking" on Monday. "And what we're seeing here is that independents are right in the middle of it."
The Hill-HarrisX poll surveyed 1,002 registered voters from Feb. 23-24, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
