Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity has landed the first TV interview with George Zimmerman, the Florida man charged in the fatal shooting of teenager Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman will appear on ”Hannity,” at 9 p.m. Wednesday night.
Mark O’Mara, Zimmerman’s defense attorney, will also be on the show to answer questions that may be difficult for his client to answer, the network said in a press release.
The interview will take up the whole hour of Hannity’s show. Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second degree murder, and is awaiting his trial. His defense team filed a motion last week to asking for a new judge.
Zimmerman spoke off-the-record to Hannity by phone in April, one of the moves cited by his original attorneys for dropping the case, notes the Orlando Sentinel.
Fox also addressed online rumors that Hannity offered to pay for Zimmerman's legal defense: "Sean Hannity has never offered to pay any legal fees or any fee associated with George Zimmerman."
