A gun shop outside of Orlando, Fla. has created an assault rifle the owner believes will ward off use by Muslim terrorists.

At Spike's Tactial in Apopka, the AR-15 has a Knights Templar Long Cross and the Psalm 144:1 Bible verse etched on the side, "Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle," the Orlando Sentinel reports.

"Off the cuff I said I'd like to have a gun that if a Muslim terrorist picked it up a bolt of lightning would hit and knock him dead," said former Navy SEAL Ben Thomas, a spokesman for the company.

The gun, called The Crusader Rifle, went on sale this week and sells for $1,395, according to the company's website.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) of Florida feels differently. In a statement to Fox 35 Orlando, the organization said, "Sadly, this manufacturer's fancy new gun won't do anything to stop the real threat in America: the escalating problem of gun violence. This is just another shameful marketing ploy intended to profit from the promotion of hatred, division, and violence."

Thomas told Fox 35 Orlando that the assault rifle is not meant to be racist, but rather a way to keep the weapons out of terrorists' hands should they find their way to the Middle East.

"We didn't say 'No Muslims,'" he said.
