Late-night TV show host Seth Meyers on Sunday wasted little time tackling the sexual harassment scandals that rocked Hollywood last year, taking aim at several disgraced notable people during his opening monologue at the 75th annual Golden Globes awards show in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“Good evening, ladies and remaining gentlemen," he started out.

"For the male nominees in the room, this is the first time in three months it won’t be terrifying to hear your name read out loud.”

"It’s been years since a white man has been this scared in Hollywood," he added.

On Harvey Weinstein, the producer who has been accused by 84 women of sexual misconduct, Meyers said: "Don't worry, he'll be back in 20 years when he becomes the first person to be booed at the annual In Memoriam," his comment earning groans from the audience. "It will sound like that," he retorted.

Meyers also took digs at President Donald Trump.

"A lot of people thought it would be more appropriate for a woman to host tonight's show, and they might be right, but if it makes you feel any better I have absolutely no power in Hollywood," Meyers said, as the camera panned to actor Seth Rogen. "Remember when he was the one causing trouble with North Korea? Simpler times."

Upon mention of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which chooses the winners for the Golden Globes, Meyers said: "A string of three words that could not have been better designed to infuriate our president: Hollywood Foreign Press. The only name that would make him angrier would be the Hillary Mexico Salad Association."
