A one-time aide to former President George W. Bush who now works for Facebook will meet with conservatives this week as the company tries to recover from claims it blacklisted right-leaning news organizations.

Joel Kaplan served in many roles during Bush's eight-year presidency, including as deputy chief of staff for policy. Facebook hired him in 2011, and The Hill reports he will help the social media company convince conservatives it holds no political bias. He now serves as Facebook's vice president for global public policy.

The Wednesday meeting will take place at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., according to The Hill. It will reportedly include Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, former White House press secretary Dana Perino, radio host Glenn Beck, Donald Trump's senior advisor Barry Bennett, and others.

A recent report claimed Facebook workers routinely blacklisted conservative news websites and would often not include them in the "Trending Topics" section on its front page.
