Former Arkansas Republican Governor Mike Huckabee said 2016 presidential candidate and former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton needed to "get over herself," "move on" and quit finding new reasons to explain last year's defeat, The Hill reported Saturday.
"Hillary needs to get over herself and quit blaming everybody," Huckabee told Fox News on Saturday.
Her excuses for her loss were growing at such a rate, Huckabee quipped she would be recording an album about them.
"I don't know if you know this, but she's going to Nashville. She's recording a new album, 'Hillary's greatest hits of one thousand and one excuses why twice I wasn't elected president.'"
Clinton's last week in part blamed the Democratic National Committee's lack of funding and support for her campaign loss.
"I mean, it was bankrupt. It was on the verge of insolvency. Its data was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong," Clinton said Wednesday. "I had to inject money into it."
Huckabee, who campaigned twice for the presidency, said Clinton was also wrong to blame campaign staff for election losses.
"Ultimately the candidate wins and the candidate loses," he said. "And when you lose, you don't look around at all the people that worked their tails off helping you and blame them. You thank them and you blame yourself. You dust yourself off and move on."
