First lady Melania Trump will not travel with President Donald Trump on his upcoming trips to the G7 summit in Quebec later this week and the summit with North Korea in Singapore on June 12, her spokeswoman told ABC News.

She has not been seen in public since May 10, when she joined the president to welcome home three American detainees from North Korea.

The White House said late on Sunday that the president and first lady would host a reception on Monday evening for the families of service members killed in the line of duty. The reception is not open to the press, the White House added.

The first lady underwent a medical procedure to treat a benign kidney condition on May 14 and remained in the hospital until May 19, according to the White House.

In addition, Melania Trump did not join the president on his weekend trip to Camp David, The Hill reported.

The New York Post pointed out that she also did not travel with the president to Tennessee or Texas, his other destinations since her surgery.

The White House and first lady’s office have not offered an explanation for her absence from the public eye for the past 24 days.

Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's director of communications, told ABC News that she was "doing really well" and has been involved in several internal meetings with staff regarding initiatives and other long-term planning for events such as the congressional picnic and Fourth of July.

Last week the first lady sent out a message on Twitter regarding speculation about her whereabouts.

Last year, the first lady joined the president for his first G7 trip to Italy, where she took part in public appearances with the spouses of other G7 leaders.
