President Donald Trump blasted ESPN anchor Jemele Hill in a Tuesday morning tweet after her suspension from the sports network, and included misleading information about ESPN's ratings, according to CNN.

Trump said in the tweet that ESPN's ratings have "tanked."

Little evidence supports the theory from conservative sources that liberal bias results in declining ratings, according to CNN.

ESPN's most recent subscriber totals from 2016 show 90 million subscribers, which is down 2 million from 2015, and down from 100 million in 2010, CNN reported.

The vast majority of homes in the U.S. continue to subscribe to cable packages that include ESPN, but in recent years, more options such as streaming subscriptions have become available which has led to some homes discontinuing their cable service, according to the CNN report.

ESPN suspended Hill for two weeks after her tweets about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

In Hill's tweets, she said that Jones put his players at a disadvantage, "especially the black ones," by saying those who did not respect the U.S. flag would not be allowed to play.
