Tesla CEO Elon Musk lashed out at President Joe Biden, tweeting that Biden was "treating the American people like fools" after Musk wasn't invited to a summit meeting focusing on electric vehicles last week that included CEOs from both Ford and General Motors.
Both companies were praised by Biden for increasing production on electric vehicles in the United States, to which Musk appeared to express his frustration that Tesla was not mentioned, according to Yahoo! News.
"Starts with a T. Ends with an A. ESLA in the middle," Musk wrote on Twitter, adding "Biden is a damp [sock emoji] puppet in human form," after another user said it was "madness" for them to exclude Tesla from the summit.
Tesla makes its vehicles in California and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas, the Daily Mail reported.
Musk was also not invited to a similar summit last August, with White House press secretary Jen Psaki saying they invited "the three largest employers of the United Auto Workers," Yahoo! reported, adding that the Biden administration does not approve of Musk's anti-union stance.
The National Labor Relations Board found last March that Tesla had engaged in unfair labor practices and actively discouraged workers from unionizing, according to The Washington Post.
