Elon Musk, the owner of X, formerly Twitter, says that President Joe Biden wants to prioritize allowing legal status for millions of immigrants because he wants to create a "one-party state" in the United States.
Musk posted on his X page Friday, while reacting to an Associated Press story about Biden's plans that the president is trying to "get as many illegals in the country as possible" so he can "legalize them to create a permanent majority — a one-party state," reports Mediaite.
Musk, who voted for Biden in 2020, added that the plan is "why they are encouraging so much illegal immigration. Simple, yet effective."
He linked to the bill in a post and wrote, "Here is the full text of the bill. It sounds so reasonable at first, just like 'The Committee of Public Safety' actually meant 'The Cutting Off Heads Committee' in revolutionary France."
He further said, in another post, that the strategy "explains why there are so few deportations, as every deportation is a lost vote."
As a result, Musk said, "[Y]ou can literally assault police officers in broad daylight in New York, be released with no bail, give everyone the finger, and *still* not be deported!! Outrageous."
Meanwhile, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reported in late December that the administration deported more than 142,000 immigrants in fiscal year 2023, according to The Washington Post. This was nearly double the amount deported in 2022, and comes as the administration increased enforcement efforts at the border.
Still, the administration deported fewer immigrants by year than the Trump administration did.
