President Donald Trump gave a mysterious wink on Friday when asked about his just as mysterious "calm before the storm" remark he made at the White House Thursday night.

During a brief appearance with the media in front of the Oval Office Friday afternoon, a reporter asked Trump what exactly he meant by his comment Thursday night during a photo-op with military leaders.

Trump responded to Friday's question by saying, "Thank you very much," before smiling and winking.

Moments later, Trump said, "You'll find out." He continued smiling after that.

"We'll see," Trump added.

Trump said Thursday night at a meeting with military leaders it was "the calm before the storm."

When asked what he meant by it, Trump said. "You'll find out."

It is unclear if Trump was referring to North Korea, Iran, ISIS, or another country or enemy of the United States.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked about the "calm before the storm" remark several times during Friday afternoon's press briefing.

"We're never going to say in advance what the president will do. As he said last night in addition to the comments, you'll have to wait and see," Sanders said.

Sanders answered another question on the subject by saying it was "a general comment. Nothing specific that was in reference to."

When asked whether Trump was violating the element of surprise by dropping a hint such as this, Sanders said, "I don't believe he did. He didn't talk about any specific actions at all."
