Questioning contributions from Donald Trump to Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, a Democratic group has lodged a complaint with the FBI, according to a Miami Herald report.

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump called the transaction a "prime example of public corruption."

"The case against Trump University never commenced," the complaint filed with the FBI states, according to LawNewz. "We believe that this contribution was made by Trump to Bondi in return for the Florida Attorney General's office not pursuing a case against Trump University, and therefore that it is prime example of public corruption."

Bondi and her PAC, And Justice for All, are under the scanner for accepting donations worth $651,000 from the Trump Foundation during her re-election in 2013 and 2014, the report stated.

One of the transactions revealed Bondi accepted a pay check of $25,000 to ignore the complaints against Trump and Trump University, which allegedly scammed thousands of people.

The anti-Trump organisation also pointed out two $500 donations by Trump and his daughter, Ivanka. The duo also parted with a combined $125,000 to the Republican Party of Florida in July and August 2014, of which $1.4 million was spent in support of Bondi's re-election.

The group also asked the FBI to investigate another suspicious transaction of $500,000 to an the And Justice for All, who's links with Trump is not officially declared.

Bondi and Trump have denied any communication regarding Trump University. Bondi's spokesman Whitney Ray stated in an email that "the matter never rose to the attorney general's level for any decision of any kind."

Bondi's office later released a statement saying, "All articles misreporting that this Office made a determination not to investigate or sue Trump University in 2013 stem from an Orlando Sentinel story that erroneously reported that this Office was reviewing the New York lawsuit's allegations 'to determine whether Florida should join the multi-state case.' This was absolutely not true."
