The United States had "no choice" but to bomb ISIS forces in Libya, GOP nominee Donald Trump said, and he would extend the bombing if he becomes the next president.

You have to do what you have to do get rid of ISIS," Trump told Fox Business Network's Stuart Varney during a Facebook Live chat set up as part of the "Varney & Co." program.

"It's a terrific problem and a horrific one," he told Varney. "We should have never been there in the first place. I was opposed going into Iraq. We unleashed a monster in the Middle East, Yes, I would bomb them. You have to do what have you do to get rid of them."

There was no choice but to drop bombs this week, Trump said, as "they've taken over Libya. That was another one of Hillary Clinton's beauties. They've taken over Libya. No good. We have to bomb them."

Further, Trump said, the nation has to be vigilant, and "part of the vigilance is looking at the mosques."

"You see what's happening in France," he said. "They have no choice. I say we have to be vigilant, and part of the vigilance is looking at the mosques."

Trump said he's also sticking with his call for restrictions on Muslim immigrants coming to the United States from locations in the world's terrorism zones.

"We'll be very strong and we'll have extreme vetting," Trump said. "We don't want people in the country that are going to start blowing it up. You look at San Bernardino, look at what's going on, look at Orlando, look at everything. It's just a mess. Look at the World Trade Center. We don't want people in this country that have bad ideas, and I want to tell you, we have plenty of people let in this country where we're going to have problems in the future. Mark my words. Like we've never had before."
