Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday told members of a gun club that he was interested in following in his father's footsteps and, perhaps running for governor of New York, the New York Post reports.
"Don Jr. said he is interested in running for office, such as governor of New York, but the position of mayor of New York would be less interesting to him," a guest at the F6 Labs gun club in Hicksville, New York, where Trump Jr. spoke to members Tuesday, told the Post.
"Going back to doing deals is boring after 18 months. The politics bug bit me," Trump Jr. said according to the guest.
Donald and brother Eric have taken over the Trump Organization since their father was sworn in.
Trump Jr. in March talked about how he missed the campaign trail.
"Once you get a little bit of a taste of that action, it's hard to leave," he said. "You know, listen, deals are still exciting, but when you're sort of the guy out there 24/7, every day fighting in this thing — it's like a great fight, the intensity. I don't miss the politics, I promise. I want nothing to do with the politics, but I miss the intensity of that."
