Trump: Bush 'Embarrassed' Because He's Losing the Race

Jeb Bush is "embarrassed" because he is so low in the GOP primary polls, Donald Trump said Wednesday, and he's launching attacks to try to get his numbers up.

"I don't think it's going to work, but the last thing we need is another Bush," Trump told ABC's "Good Morning America" host George Stephanopoulos. "He understands that, and the voters understand that, and you know, to compare me to Michael Moore is a first. That one hasn't happened before."

Trump was referencing an opinion piece Bush wrote for National Review on Tuesday, in which he complained that Trump's comments on the role of his brother, former President George W. Bush, in the 9/11 attacks were the "latest episode of the reality show that is Donald Trump's campaign," and stated "that Trump echoes the attacks of Michael Moore and the fringe left against my brother is yet another example of his dangerous views on national-security issues."

Meanwhile, the former president struck out at another GOP candidate, Ted Cruz, for embracing Trump's stance. Trump Wednesday said the Texas senator has been "very nice" and "amazingly respectful."

"He agrees with most of my positions, if not all my positions and, you know, we had a very good relationship, so I don't know if you call that embracing," said Trump of Cruz.

"He respects what I'm saying. I think that's nice."

He said he is also not worried about plans from the conservative Club for Growth, reported by The Washington Examiner, which outlined the group's plans to blanket the nation's early voting states with anti-Trump attack ads.

"As you know, the Club for Growth came up to my office, asked me for a million dollars," Trump said. "I laughed at them. I never even heard of them. I laughed and then they left my office after that. Wrote me a letter and left my office and did an ad. You know, negative ads. So, you know, these aren't legitimate people and these are the kind of people we have in politics."

Trump also spoke about Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, who outlined a series of conditions on Tuesday under which he'd consider seeking the House Speaker's seat.

"I like him very much as a person," said Trump. "Certainly he has been weak on immigration and I'm very strong on immigration. Had we had strong immigration, you know, my policies, you may not have had the World Trade Center coming down and the attack.
