Donald Trump’s ascendance as America's CEO is making a lot of people nostalgic for “The Apprentice,” the game show he hosted for 14 seasons. Some are even hoping to see him return to the show as U.S. president.

Trump hasn’t been on the show since 2015, but his election victory has sparked a global interest in all things Trump, especially “The Apprentice,” according to a TV data analytics firm.

Wared Seger, co-founder of Parrot Analytics, “a measurement company that helps international TV executives gauge interest in TV properties,” told the New York Post that the demand to bring Trump back to “The Apprentice” has grown drastically in the past few months.

There are people who believe if Trump returns to “The Apprentice,” they’ll have direct access to just the kind of president he will be for Americans.

“There’s been a lot of global interest,” a person familiar with “The Apprentice” said, according to The Post. “With a great format like that there are always opportunities for exploiting it further. The demand is huge.”

Some believe it was the NBC game show hosted by Trump that became “the core of his appeal to his voters,” The Business Insider noted.

When CNN’s Poppy Harlow spoke with voters in Ohio before the election, she asked one woman “what about Trump’s career made her confident that he’s a ‘successful businessman.’”

“First of all, he had a television show,” the woman said, referencing “The Apprentice.”

Although Trump was famous long before starring in “The Apprentice,” it was that show that “made Trump a national pop-culture figure way beyond New York tabloids and glossy magazines,” TBI noted.

For some, Trump’s presence on the show promoted him in a new way, showcasing his confidence as a businessman who knew how to close deals, and not just any deals, but successful ones.

During Trump’s years on “The Apprentice,” he was represented by several talent agencies, including William Morris Agency and Endeavor, The Post noted. The two agencies would later team up to merge their companies, becoming WME.

Sunday, WME boss Ari Emanuel visited the president-elect in New Jersey, according to The Post. However, sources say Emanuel and Trump did not discuss any business plans.

Trump was supposed to be off “The Apprentice” for good after he hosted the 14th season. We'll see.
